NITOP welcomes exhibitors who are interested in offering information about new books for classroom use and/or demonstrations of educational software, lab equipment, etc. to teachers of psychology in high school through graduate school. The conference is attended by over 400 psychology teachers from throughout the country who wish to explore new ideas that will enhance and broaden their teaching skills.
Each exhibitor will be provided a large covered table, two chairs, wifi internet access, and registration for two representatives. Private demonstrations by exhibitors are offered in dedicated rooms seating about 50 participants, are also available for a small additional charge. Exhibits will be located so that participants may browse the exhibits and visit with exhibitors frequently throughout the conference.
The conference will be held at the TradeWinds Island Grand Resort in St. Pete Beach, Florida, from January 3–6, 2023.
46th Annual National Institute on the Teaching of Psychology (NITOP)
General Information: The National Institute on the Teaching of Psychology is an annual conference for teachers of psychology. NITOP is an independent, nonprofit, educational organization. The NITOP organizing committee invites distinguished speakers based on nominations from past participants, expertise in topics related to the teaching of psychology, and demonstrated skill in presenting. Presentations include workshops, concurrent sessions, and general sessions on topics of interest to psychology teachers at all levels, from high school through university. To assist these teachers in improving their effectiveness and enhancing their students' learning, the Institute program offers content updates, new instructional techniques, and engaging activities.
The seminar is designed to give a small group of participants the opportunity to discuss existing research on the scholarship of teaching and learning in psychology, to exchange new research ideas, to create collaborative international research teams, and ultimately to generate published empirical studies whose results will promote evidence-based recommendations for improving the teaching of psychological science on an international scale.
