In the Demo Demo, great instructors will micro-teach their favorite class demonstrations—original, ready-to-use demos and new twists on old favorites. Get a ready-to-use new class demonstration or experience an old favorite in a new way.  Presentations are for 15 minutes each.

We've cooked up a fresh new event called NI-Tapas* in response to the hunger for practical teaching ideas. Join us for tableside presentations of bite-sized teaching tips and tricks that will leave you feeling satisfied and energized. At NI-Tapas, a diverse range of presenters will dish out their best ideas in no more than 5 minutes each. From a new example of the availability heuristic to a zesty demonstration for social psychology, you're sure to find a flavor that suits your taste. Or maybe you’re looking for a new approach to student attendance, belonging, discussion, or engagement. We've designed NI-Tapas to be a more intimate and informal version of Teaching Slam, with a cozy atmosphere that encourages lively conversation and collaboration. Instead of presenting to the entire conference group, presenters will travel from table to table, sharing their ideas with small groups of attendees who share similar teaching contexts or courses. Attendees will be seated in affinity groups, such as community college instructors, high school teachers, statistics teachers, or introductory psychology teachers. Every five minutes, presenters will move to a new table, giving attendees a chance to sample a variety of flavors.

*NI-Tapas = New Ideas for Teaching and Pedagogical Strategies. In Spanish cuisine, tapas are small plates that can be combined to form a full meal, often accompanying socializing and conversation.
